I have read some views about Jesus that leave me questioning who was the rebel. Would Jesus have ridden a Harley? Would He be a 1%er? We imagine that Jesus was a rebel, but I am beginning to see Him as being radically the only one who was not a rebel.
“Here is the judgment. Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light. They loved darkness because what they did was evil. “Everyone who does evil things hates the light. They will not come into the light. They are afraid that what they do will be seen. But anyone who lives by the truth comes into the light. He does this so that it will be easy to see that what he has done is with God’s help.” (John 3:19-21)
Jesus alone abides by God’s law. He was a loner as He stood against the corruption in His day. He did not conform to the expectations of any culture, but chose be an example of faithfulness to the moral law – even unto death. He died for the good of all citizens. I cannot see Jesus as anything but the only example of holiness that we must conform to. He is the law and the truth, so how can he rebel?
